You’ve attended technically related courses for years (disease processes, medical advancements, equipment updates), but when was the last time you sharpened your personal saw? When was the last time you stepped outside of your comfort zone to express yourself?
Be honest because in my experience veterinary team members would prefer to walk over hot coals barefoot instead of attending classes in which you have to tap into your feelings or express yourself! Am I right?!
These are the “soft-skills,” meant to improve your ability to be present, empathetic and work well with your team. When have you attended that type of CE? When was your last “You” day?
It’s OK. As a caregiver (yes, you are a healer and give care to your patients and your clients) filling your own cup (putting on your oxygen mask) is HUGELY important!
