Thankfulness and Reflection

November: What a great time of the year to be thankful and reflect!

By our guest blogger, Lori Denham from Guardian Consulting Services

NOVEMBER….Can you believe it? The first thing we think…..where did the time go?  Then, oh no…I need to come up with a New Year’s Resolution.  But it’s also the month we think about what we are grateful for …. and Sharing!

Being grateful:

As we near the end of another year, stop and reflect.  Are there areas in your life that were totally amazing?  If so, take the time to remember why you valued that event or people you met along the way.  Send a hand-written thank you note, give them a quick call.

New Year’s Resolution:

Perhaps you’re excited that the year is coming to a close! It may not have been all you thought it should be… take this time to reflect on what you’d like to change, change those things you can – forgive those you cannot.  Moving forward, while respecting the past, make for a new years’ resolution you may be able to stick to and win!

Philanthropy is often seen as a monetary donation…however, time is another great way to give back.  Have you thought about sharing some of your talents? To help you get started, here’s some of the organizations we have supported in the past:

  • Children’s Museums
  • Youth Sports
  • Youth Education Programs
  • Single Mom/Abuse Programs
  • Youth Alcohol/Drug Prevention Events
  • Summer Lunch Programs
  • Church Events
  • Mission Food Programs
  • School Events
  • Animal Rescue Organizations
  • Entrepreneurial Programs

No matter your situation in life, reflection is beneficial to see where you have been and where you are going.  By focusing on the positives around you and making realistic plans on moving forward, you can create a wonderful plan for the upcoming year.
